David Whartnaby, MAI

David Whartnaby is the owner of BlackDog Appraisal Inc. He is a certified general appraiser in North Dakota and Minnesota, and in July 2023, he officially obtained the esteemed MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. David also holds a Master's Degree in Educational Pedagogy from Alliant International University.

Specializing in commercial property types—including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and special-purpose properties—David provides a wide range of services, including mortgage lending, estate planning, divorce settlements, litigation support, and feasibility analysis. His dedication to delivering accurate and reliable appraisals has earned him the trust of numerous clients, from banks and attorneys to local public entities.

David is also the founder and owner of BlackDog Database LLC, the leading CRE online database service provider in the region.

In his free time, David enjoys staying active, drinking coffee, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
